Assemble Entertainment and DigiTales Interactive have announced that their pixel-noir game Lacuna is now available on Nintendo Switch.

Set in a melancholic 2D sci-fi noir universe, you play as hardened CDI agent Neil Conrad. After he is awoken by the news of a gruesome murder, Neil must rush to investigate a case that will soon turn his life – and the whole city – on its head.

You will be challenged to use your moral compass to explore an “emotionally intense experience,” which the publisher believes is “sure to raise some critical self-reflection.” That will see you interrogate suspects, collect evidence and discover the truth whatever the consequence.

“The idea for Lacuna was born around seven years ago and evolved quite a lot over time,” explains DigiTales Interactive lead writer and co-founder Jasmin Pfeiffer. “Our main inspirations at that time were not only obvious choices like Detective Grimoire or Return of the Obra Dinn, but also famous franchises like The Expanse and Ghost in the Shell.”

Lacuna is out now digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide priced at £17.99 (€19.99), with a 20 percent launch discount available.
