Phantom Gate trademark filed by Nintendo and Game Freak

It has been spotted that Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures Inc. have filed a trademark for “Phantom Gate” in late December, igniting speculation that this may be related to Pokémon.

That’s largely due to the fact that the Pokémon series is partly owned by each of the three companies, to which the first thing that then comes to mind is last year’s Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity

It joins Pokkén Fighters and Pokétouch as trademarks made within Japan that as yet have an unknown purpose.
