NIS America and Nippon Ichi Software have revealed more about the characters that will appear in Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero, which is in development for Nintendo Switch.
From the creators of the Disgaea series, the grid-less tactical turn-based RPG stars Marona – a gifted young girl with the power to speak to Phantoms – and Ash, her loyal Phantom companion, who sail the ocean world of Ivoire lending aid to those in need.
After a fleet of ghost pirates attack, it is up to Marona and her newfound friend Apricot to assemble the legendary crew who had once defeated these spectral foes.
That will see you recruit Phantoms, bind them to objects, combine them with Gadgets or even merge them with Marona herself to use show-stopping abilities and sink the Shipwreck Fleet.
Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2025.
Marona
A young girl who can speak with Phantoms, the spirits of the dead.
A girl with the unusual power to interact with the souls of the dead. Because of this power, she was once despised and called “The Possessed One” by those around her. However, she’s now treated as a hero after saving the world from Sulphur, the Lord of Terror. She is cheerful, optimistic, and kind, and works hard as a Chroma to help solve people’s problems.
Ash
A young man who supports Marona, even in death.
A young Phantom man who has acted as Marona’s guardian and partner ever since her parents passed away when she was young. He’s kind, and has a strong sense of justice. Ash becomes separated from Marona while protecting her from the mysterious Shipwreck Fleet.
Apricot
A lonely pirate girl who longs to reunite with her father.
A lonely Phantom girl Marona encounters when she finds herself at Skullrock Island. Her
swordsmanship, which she learned from her heroic pirate father, is unmatched. However, due to not being able to speak with anyone for many years, she is extremely timid. Encouraged by the optimistic Marona, she decides to search for her lost father and revitalize his pirate crew.
