Konami have confirmed that they aren’t developing PES 2014 for Wii U, following news that EA Sports’ FIFA 14 will also miss the platform.
In defending the decision, PES European community manager Adam Bhatti took to social media site Twitter to respond to complaints.
“You must admit the Wii U isn’t appealing for third-party,” Bhatti responded to one comment. “From the very low amount of Wii U consoles out there, we feel it won’t benefit us.”
He later continued, “Everyone who made games over the launch period feel stung. Others stung during the time Wii dominated but third-party suffered. I think Nintendo haven’t worked closely with third-parties with Wii U.”
