Characters from Persona 3 and 4 will soon collide, with ATLUS confirming plans to release Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth across North America. The 3DS crossover sees such cast in an adventure that matches the gameplay style of Etrian Odyssey, also marking the first time that the Persona franchise will hit a Nintendo platform.

Players will be thrust into an alternate world resembling Yasogami High School, legend declaring that those that hear the end of the clock tower’s bell chimes will die. The Investigation Team and the SEES have two different narratives, each seeking a way out of the labyrinth with two new characters, Rei and Zen, potentially holding the secret to the mystery.

“The Persona series is one of the most progressive, mature role playing game franchises in the world, and a cornerstone of what makes ATLUS a great video game company,” commented Index Digital Media CEO and president Naoto Hiraoka.

“The latest ventures into the worlds of Persona 3 and 4 give new perspective and depth to some of gaming’s most incredible characters, and the new games have a wide enough breadth to be enthralling for newcomers to the series.”

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth will release for Nintendo 3DS across North America later this year.
