Outersloth and Coldblood Inc. have announced that their nightmarish life sim RPG Neverway is in development for Nintendo Switch.
After Fiona quits her dead-end job, she starts over on a farm and becomes the immortal herald of a dead deity.
Co-directed by the pixel artist from Celeste and with music by Fez and Hyper Light Drifter composer Disasterpeace, you will have the chance to explore this post-apocalyptic world, fighting through its horrors, meeting charming characters to befriend, romance or deceive, and in which you will farm, fish and cook as you rebuild your life.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Make Friends: Meet (or date!) 10+ charming characters with unique routines and storylines. Each bond unlocks buffs and combat abilities that make your journey a little easier. Will you lie to them or tell them the truth?
- Fight (and try not to die): Neverway features a top-down, fast-paced combat with an emphasis on player expression. Craft items to customize your playstyle, and unlock combat abilities through your friendship bonds.
- Rebuild Your Life: Farm and craft items, prepare meals, or just decorate your homestead. Time progresses in three blocks, and you choose when to advance: morning, afternoon, and evening. One day at a time.
Neverway will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2026.
