Nintendo of America has teamed up with Paul Rudd to promote Nintendo Switch 2, recreating the Super Nintendo Entertainment System launch commercial in which the Ant-Man star had appeared early in his career.
Dressed in the long black duster, indie rocked hair and beaded necklace he wore in the 1991 commercial, Rudd swaps out slamming F-Zero, Super Play Action Football, Pilotwings, SimCity and The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past into the Super Nintendo Entertainment System cartridge slot for calmly placing the Nintendo Switch 2 in its Dock.
Even the “Now You’re Playing With Power. Super Power” slogan makes a comeback, reinvented to “Now You’re Playing Together” in its use to advertise GameChat.
Pressing the C Button on the right Joy-Con 2 controller will let you start an online chat whenever you like, with the Nintendo Switch 2’s built-in microphone promised to pick up your voice even when sitting far away. You can choose to share your screen in real-time with friends, even if you are all playing different games, and a compatible USB-C camera can be used to video chat with up to four people.
Nintendo Switch 2 will be released at retailers around the world on 5 June 2025, priced at £395.99 in the United Kingdom, €469.99 across Europe, and $449.99 in the United States.
