Bandai Namco Entertainment has shared a launch trailer for Patapon 1+2 Replay, which is out on Nintendo Switch this week.
This remasters the critically acclaimed PlayStation Portable games Patapon (2007) and Patapon 2 (2008), in which the Patapon tribe were driven from their home by the Zigoton army.
Driven to become fierce warrior spirits who can only be commanded by the beat of a war drum, as the Mighty One, you must guide them as they battle through challenging enemies to return to their homeland, Earthend.
In an experience that blends rhythm-based action and real-time strategy, you must use four legendary drums to command different troop classes such as the “Hatapon” that lead the charge, “Kibapon”, a horse-riding warrior, or “Yumipon” which shoot their bows from afar.
Your Patapons can be enhanced by combining items collected from rare materials through stages and missions – with more than 400 types of weapons and equipment, you can build your personalised Patapon unit to tackle diverse stages and formidable enemies.
The team behind the port has added new updates to make it “even more accessible and enjoyable,” such as three difficulty settings (Normal, Easy, Hard), timing adjustment, and constant command display.
Patapon 1+2 Replay will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 11 July 2025.
