Party Hat Pikachu Celebrates Pokémon Day In Pokémon GO

Monday 27th February 2017 will once again mark Pokémon Day, commemorating the date on which the first Pokémon games launched in Japan way back in 1996.

As can be expected, Pokémon GO will get in on the action, with the location-based game to temporarily add a special Pikachu wearing a festive party hat.

This will be made available from 1pm PST (9pm GMT) on Sunday 26th February until 1pm PST (9pm GMT) on Monday 6th March 2017, with any Pikachu that you encounter in the wild wearing the celebratory headgear.

The Pokémon Company adds that, as with Holiday Pikachu, the Pikachu will keep its party hat forever, meaning that the Pokémon Day celebration will never need to end. And we can hardly complain about that.
