Square Enix has announced that Paranormasight: The Mermaid’s Curse is coming to Nintendo Switch, news that was shared in this week’s Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase presentation.
From the original creators behind Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo, this mystery adventure is set against the backdrop of Showa-era Japan and themed around urban legends and occult.
With a new setting, folklore and cast of characters, this standalone experience presents a new “Curse” for you to uncover. Through blending real-world locations with authentic legends, the developer has looked to deliver “a deeply immersive mystery experience.”
Those who have yet to play the series’ first entry can purchase it at a 75 percent discount, until Wednesday 18 February 2026.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- A brand-new story that starts with a new location, new supernatural legends and a new cast of characters.
- Faithful reproductions of real locations and vistas in collaboration with Mie prefecture. Investigate stunning 360 degree backgrounds for clues.
- Numerous new gameplay systems and mechanics, including a new Diving mini game.
- Play as multiple characters to unravel the mystery in this supernatural visual novel.
- Unearth the truth by your own hand!
Paranormasight: The Mermaid’s Curse will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 19 February 2026.
