Panic Button has revealed that the studio helped Nintendo release free updates to four Nintendo Switch games to let them benefit from the expanded capabilities of the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware.
Those four games were ARMS, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury and Super Mario Odyssey.
From optimising each game’s image quality and frame rate to adding HDR support, the developer also worked on implementing GameShare compatibility between Nintendo Switch 2 and/or Nintendo Switch consoles.
“Panic Button was honored to be selected by Nintendo to help update marquee games from the Nintendo Switch library,” the developer shared on social media. “Nintendo asked us to help demonstrate new capabilities of the Nintendo Switch 2 system, while remaining faithful to the original games.”
The developer is known for delivering some “impossible” ports that came to Nintendo Switch, such as DOOM, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, DOOM Eternal and Apex Legends.
