Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan has admitted that porting the team-based multiplayer first-person shooter to Nintendo Switch would be “very challenging.”

When asked whether it would be a challenge he would step up to, Kaplan shared that the team was “always open minded about exploring possible platforms.”

But what remains unclear is whether it is the console’s technical specifications that are the primary concern or perhaps more a belief that the game doesn’t suit Nintendo Switch, a gaming console you can play both at home and on-the-go.

“I’m loving the Switch!” Kaplan had enthused in response. “My second favourite gaming platform of all time is the 3DS. Getting Overwatch on the Switch is very challenging for us. But we’re always open minded about exploring possibly platforms.”

Overwatch is now available worldwide on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
