Dear Villagers and Dead Teapot Games have announced that their upcoming narrative puzzler Shape Sender Deluxe is coming to Nintendo Switch.
The game’s “creator” Sendy will speak directly to you, challenging you to overcome physics-based puzzles and even create your own while commenting on your attempts and creativity as you conquer 90 levels.
You will send shapes from one pipe to another to complete levels, and, as you progress through the game, Sendy’s attitude towards you “will develop in several quirky ways,” leading to “off-the-wall situations with increasing challenge, new shapes, tools and obstacles to compose with.”
The Level Editor mode will let you create your own levels and share your creations with friends, or simply create GIFs of the solutions that you come up with.
“Shape Sender Deluxe encourages creativity in every level – wild, elegant, or stupid-but-it-works are all valid solutions, and it’s up to the players to decide what they want to bring to the game. I’m super excited to see what the players do,” explains Dead Teapot Games game director Tana Tanoi.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- 90+ physics puzzles across three acts, each introducing new mechanics and increasingly creative obstacles.
- 5 shapes with unique physics properties, like fragile stars that shatter on impact. Sendy’s personal favourite. Handle them with care. He’s watching.
- 5 distinct tools: combine them however you want to find many creative solutions.
- No time pressure, no single correct solution. Just your approach and the satisfaction of watching it work.
- A reactive soundtrack built from your solution: every tool has its own sound, and the way you combine them does the rest. Elegant solutions sound calm. Chaotic ones sound like a “you” problem.
- Things with Sendy have been a little…intense lately. Just so you know. Keep an eye on him alright?
- Expert mode: every solution you place claims real estate on the grid. Solve the same level again with less space. Keep going until there’s no room left. That’s your score.
- A level editor that lets you build complete puzzles from scratch.
Shape Sender Deluxe will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Fall 2026.
