Over the Moon are the latest to become an official Nintendo developer, seeing the indie studio line up their Kickstarter project The Fall for a Nintendo eShop release early next year.
Having already gathered the necessary funds, the episodic game takes inspiration from Super Metroid and Tales of Monkey Island in blending point-and-click adventures, platformers and shooters together to shape the studio’s narrative vision.
“As of yesterday afternoon, Over The Moon is now an official Nintendo developer,” they shared in a Kickstarter update. “That means that The Fall will be coming to the Wii U, potentially around the same time as our initial PC/Mac launch, and probably just slightly after.
“I’m looking forward to getting my hands on a dev kit and getting The Fall up and running on Nintendo’s fine platform. Huzzah!”
Early ideas shared for Wii U GamePad implementation see the screen being used as an informational display, for inventory management, to present the map screen, and also adding Off-TV Play.
If you wish to donate to the project, it’s still accepting further pledges so feel free to check it out.
