Kepler Interactive and Shapefarm have shared a new gameplay trailer for their intergalactic co-op puzzle adventure Orbitals, which is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch 2.
“Today’s new video features commentary by two of Shapefarm’s creative leads: Game Director Jakob Lundgren and Creative Director Marcos Ramos,” the publisher shares in a press release.
“Together they explore a derelict space station with asymmetrical gameplay: one player must constantly recharge the CH1B1 drone’s battery with the Beam Cannon, while another uses the Scrap Hook to grab objects, levers, and doors to clear the path forward. Orbitals features many unique gameplay scenarios and puzzles throughout the course of the game, adding new layers and ways for players to engage with the environment using their trusty tools and wits.”
Set in a retro anime galaxy, in Orbitals, you play as inseparable explorers Maki and Omura who have a whole lot more determination than they have on-the-job experience.
They must brave the perils of space to save their crumbling home from the dangers of a supernatural cosmic storm. Whether using unique tools to open the path forward, piloting their spaceship through dangerous asteroid fields or soaking up the “lavish” anime-inspired atmosphere, you will forge new bonds as friends together.
The game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, and you can choose to team up with two pairs of Joy-Con 2 controllers on a single Nintendo Switch 2 for split-screen local co-op, using the system’s GameShare feature to share Orbitals with another local player on a compatible Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch device, or by matchmaking online with their friends and taking advantage of the Nintendo Switch 2’s built-in microphone and GameChat to communicate.
Orbitals will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide in Summer 2026.
