Capcom has released new gameplay trailer for Onimusha Warlords, the remastered demon-slaying adventure that will soon unsheathe its blade on Nintendo Switch.

Set in feudal Japan after the events of a revolutionary battle, Onimusha Warlords tells the tale of the samurai Akechi Samanosuke and ninja Kaede who set out to save Princess Yuki from mysterious demons who have invaded Inabayama Castle.

That quest soon sees them unearth a malevolent plot by those who would serve the evil lord Nobunaga Oda, and, once Samanosuke gains the Oni Gauntlet, he can absorb the souls of the demons infesting the castle to restore his health and improve his weapons.

The characters, background graphics, and cut scenes have been given a high-definition upgrade, while it will support both the original game’s display (4:3) and more standard widescreen display (16:9).

There is a new screen scroll feature that has been added for widescreen display, where the background scrolls up and down in reaction to the player’s movements. Whereas, in addition to the controls from the original game, you can now move using analog sticks, the Easy Mode is unlocked from the start, and a brand new soundtrack and Japanese voices have been recorded.

Onimusha Warlords will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 15th January 2019, priced at £15.99 ($19.99).
