FDG Entertainment has announced that Oceanhorn: Monster of the Uncharted Seas will soon see release on Nintendo Switch.

With music composed by Nobuo Uematsu and Kenji Ito, the game is positioned as “a carefully crafted love letter” to Finnish developer Cornfox & Brothers favourite action-adventure titles – namely being The Legend of Zelda series, Final Fantasy, and Seiken Densetsu.

It traces the journey of a young boy that wakes up to discover that his father has disappeared – a letter, his old notebook and a mysterious necklace being the only items that he left behind.

In setting out in search of his whereabouts, players will brave the dangers of the world as they solve puzzles and uncover secrets scattered across the islands of Uncharted Seas. That quest will see you take down monsters, learn to use magic and discover ancient treasures, unravelling the mysteries around the ancient kingdom of Arcadia and the sea monster, Oceanhorn.

The publisher has confirmed that Oceanhorn on Nintendo Switch will run at a “steady” 60 frames per second in 1080p when docked in TV Mode, and then native resolution in Handheld Mode.

Oceanhorn: Monster of the Uncharted Seas will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch on June 22nd.
