Ocarina of Time 3D sells 283,000 copies across the United States

The latest sales figures from the NPD group, an independent market research firm, have revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D had a strong debut across the United States.

Having been on sale for less than two weeks, the Nintendo 3DS title was able to sell over 283,000 units allowing it to become the No. 2 best-selling video game on an individual platform for the month of June.

In addition, Nintendo sold 386,000 units within the Nintendo DS family of systems, 273,000 Wii consoles and 143,000 Nintendo 3DS units. Such sales allowed the lifetime installed base for Wii to exceed 36 million units across the United States.
