Bloober Team and Anshar Studios have announced that Observer: System Redux will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 next week.
This first‑person cyberpunk horror detective story comes to the portable home console successor with support for mouse controls with the Joy-Con 2 controllers and optional motion controls.
“Observer: System Redux immerses players in the year 2084, where a cyber-plague has killed thousands, war is never-ending and corrupt corporations have seized power over daily life,” the publisher outlines in a press release.
“Playing as elite investigator Daniel Lazarski (voiced by the legendary Rutger Hauer in his final role), players will scour the darkest and most hopeless corners of society as he searches for evidence and clues in pursuit of his missing son. Using a device known as the Dream Eater, Lazarski must hack into the minds of the dead and dying to relive their twisted final moments, putting his own sanity at risk to find leads that will help him solve the mysteries that stand in his way.”
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Become a Neural Detective: You play as Daniel Lazarski, an elite investigator of the future portrayed by late cyberpunk icon Rutger Hauer. As an Observer, you hack into the minds of suspects to extract clues and evidence. Anything they felt, thought, or remembered can and will be used to solve your case.
- Eat Their Dreams: Using a device known as the Dream Eater, hack into the minds of the dead and dying to relive their final moments to explore their fears and obsessions. Delve into these twisted neural mazes and search for clues that can help you find the elusive killer.
- Take in the Atmosphere of 2084: Enter a world ravaged by war and cyber-plague, where life is cheap, and hope is scarce. Where most people will do anything to escape their grim existence. Virtual realities, mind-altering drugs, neural implants – pick your poison and drift away into a blissful oblivion. But remember, no matter how deep you go, you can never hide from an Observer.
Observer: System Redux will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 18 June 2026.
