Bandai Namco Entertainment has teamed up with Hello Games to produce a physical release for No Man’s Sky on Nintendo Switch, confirming an October release date for the port.

Pitched as “a game about exploration and survival in an infinite procedurally generated universe,” the developer has taken inspiration from the adventure and imagination that they loved from classic science fiction.

You will have the chance to explore an infinite universe “where every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose.” Scavenging for resources, recruiting allies and fighting for survival, you can build anything from small outposts to complex multi-planet colonies.

The port will include all the major updates that have been released since the game first launched: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Sentinel and Outlaws.

“I think folks are going to be blown away when they finally get to play this game on such a tiny device,” explains Hello Games founder Sean Murray. “It really is an entire universe in the palm of your hand. It has been a huge undertaking, but a very rewarding one for our small team, and I’m really proud of the result.”

No Man’s Sky will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 7th October 2022.
