Nippon Ichi Software (NIS) has confirmed that they have games in development for Nintendo Switch, after the Japanese developer and publisher had been listed as a third-party partner back in October.

That came in 4Gamer‘s exhaustive end of year interviews with Japanese developers, in which NIS president and CEO Sohei Niikawa had chosen as the perfect moment to share the news.

“Nippon Ichi Software will deliver various content from Gifu Prefecture to the world,” Niikawa promised. “In 2017 as well, we will actively launch new IP in the consumer game market. But it doesn’t end there.

“We will steadily take on new initiatives. We also have Nintendo Switch project(s), so please look forward to that. (There has been some scepticism about our company’s participation, but… we’re in proper development!)”

Nippon Ichi is widely known for their Disgaea series, but NIS America has also helped to bring games to the west such as Etrian Odyssey Untold 2: The Fafnir Knight, Stella Glow, The Legend of Legacy, and Rodea the Sky Soldier.
