Nintendo’s Gamescom 2019 Plans Include New Looks At Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games

Nintendo of Europe has revealed their plans for Gamescom 2019, at which they will showcase new gameplay from upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusives.

From Tuesday 20th – Thursday 22nd August, you can look forward to a series of in-depth videos looking at Luigi’s Mansion 3, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Astral Chain, Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, and The Witcher III: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition.

Those that are attending the show can head to Nintendo’s booth in Hall 9, where you can go hands-on with games like Luigi’s Mansion 3, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, Daemon X Machina, Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition, and the first chance to play The Witcher III: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition on the portable home console.

Smash Ball Team Cup competitors have been invited back to compete in the one-off Nintendo Live: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – gamescom 2019 Invitational on Thursday 22nd August.

The players that win will secure the chance to fly to Japan to compete as a squad at the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Challenge Cup, held at the Nintendo Live event in Kyoto on Monday 14th October.

There they will battle it out against teams that have qualified from Japan and North America – as well as a multi-national team of top players – in a special gala tournament.

Nintendo’s stage at Gamescom 2019 will also play host to the first country qualifiers in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate European Team Cup and Splatoon 2 European Championship seasons, to be livestreamed on the Friday and Saturday afternoons.

Gamescom 2019 will take place at the Koelnmesse in Cologne from Tuesday 20th – Saturday 24th August.
