The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma may have spent the last few years exploring ways to break its conventions, but while The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild adventures toward completion, some have been left wondering what project he will move on to next.

When posed with the question, Aonuma revealed that Nintendo has requested he “create a new IP,” and that, while he can’t reveal his early ideas, he would like to create a game where the player could “live as a thief.”

“Actually, Nintendo has been telling me to create a new IP. But then, they’re also telling me to make more Zelda games,” Aonuma shared with EDGE. “I can’t really share much; I’m not sure I’m allowed to say anything. But I really like the idea of a game where I can live as a thief. That’s all I’ll say.”

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will release exclusively for Nintendo NX and Wii U in 2017.
