Nintendo won’t be exhibiting at PAX East 2014

Nintendo have confirmed that they will not be exhibiting at this year’s PAX East, notably the first time that the company has not attended the show.

At last year’s event they went big on Wii U and 3DS software, letting attendees get their hands on titles such as Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Those looking to put recent arrivals such Super Mario 3D World and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze through their paces won’t be able to do so this time around.

“Interacting directly with our fans and letting them play our games firsthand is a key component of our approach”, a Nintendo spokesperson explained to Polygon.

“That doesn’t include PAX East this year, but we will offer our fans a variety of opportunities to get their hands on Nintendo products in 2014. Keep an eye on our social media pages for more information about where we’ll be and what you can play”.

  1. Ooook this is true information. Buuut what about the fact that Sony,EA Games, Capcom, Sega, Warner Bros Interactive (Turbine WILL be in attendance), Deep Silver, Popcap, Mad Catz, Frima Studios, Twisted Pixel, Perfect World, CCP Games, Creative Labs, Asus, and Moga also won’t be attending? Especially Sony? Just because your article is accurate in facts doesn’t mean it isn’t biased; this is a blatant attempt to capitalize on the Nintendoom going around in order to get more clicks. Not mentioning that actually a lot of regular attendees won’t be there makes it sound like another “uh oh, look what Nintendo did” article.
