Nintendo have announced that, due to “popular demand,” the character limit on Miiverse has now been doubled.

It was one of two updates to the Wii U’s empathy network yesterday, the second being an improvement to how users are able to filter popular posts.

“There has been a new update to Miiverse today, for both the Wii U and web versions,” Nintendo spokesperson Marty explains.

“By popular demand, we’ve increased the character limit for posts and comments from 100 characters to 200 characters!

“Up until now, when filtering for popular posts, you could only see posts created recently, within a certain time frame. Now you can see older popular posts as well. That’s it for today!”
