Nintendo unveil Super Mario 3DS, first screenshots

Nintendo have released the first details regarding the 3D Super Mario game currently in development for the Nintendo 3DS.

Discussed during the GDC ’11 keynote speech by Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President and CEO, the latest entry within the Super Mario series is currently in development by the Tokyo studio that previously worked on the critically acclaimed Super Mario Galaxy titles.

Alongside such news, Iwata revealed the first screens and a temporary logo for the title, which you can catch below. He was keen to point out the silhouette of a tail creeping from the outskirts of the logo, perhaps hinting at a return of the infamous racoon suit from Super Mario Bros. 3.

Further details are due to be revealed at E3 in June.
