Nintendo UK head of consumer marketing James Honeywell has left the company, after working at the firm for 21 years.

MCV reports that he is currently taking a break but is available for consultancy work, and intends to return to the games industry in the coming months.

In his time at Nintendo UK, early in his career Honeywell had helped to launch Game Boy Advance SP, GameCube and Nintendo DS, and later went on to work on Wii and Nintendo DS campaigns with celebrities such as Nicole Kidman and Ant and Dec.

Having first joined the customer service department, he was recognised for his knowledge and love of Nintendo games which helped to spur his progression in the company in the two decades that followed.

Honeywell was recognised at the MCV Awards 2015, at which he was honoured with the Unsung Hero award.

We’d like to take the opportunity to thank James for all his efforts over the years at Nintendo UK, and wish him the best of luck for what the future holds!
