Nintendo have enlisted aid from 77, after the company helped to launch the Wii U in December last year.

They assume the mantle after Nintendo parted ways with Good Relations last year, and will now be responsible for handling consumer press for the company’s hardware and software launches. Whereas Nintendo’s in-house press team will continue to manage specialist and technology press.

“We wanted to find an agency which could work effectively and efficiently as an extension of our in house team,” commented Nintendo UK’s head of communications, Jo Bartlett.

“The team at 77 has proven its ability to work alongside us and our other partner agencies in an integrated and seamless fashion and we’re keen to see what more they can do.”

77’s managing director Nadia Gabbie adds, “It’s a huge honour for us to be able to deliver PR activity for Nintendo in the UK and our team is passionate about the brand and the incredible line up of titles we’re launching this year.

“As an agency we have already got a track record working with Nintendo of Europe and the team who will be working on Nintendo UK will be able to add a uniquely local market perspective.”
