Nintendo UK general manager David Yarnton fell from his bike during a charity bike ride, only to soon be saved by English cricketer Freddie Flintoff.

Yarnton was participating within ‘Cycle Slam’ and lay unconscious in the road early on in the bike ride.

Flintoff was first to the scene, performing emergency first aid and placing him into the recover position, then waiting until an ambulance arrived to take Yarnton to hospital.

“David was out cold and in a bad way. It’s no exaggeration to say that Freddie probably saved his life,” a source told The Mirror. “Freddie did a great job. He knew exactly what to do when he realised David was in trouble. It was a hot day and the conditions got too much for him.”

“David had a bit of a scare but is doing well and is planning on flying home in the next couple of days,” a Nintendo representative explained to MCV.

“He is extremely grateful to Freddie and the rest of the Cycle Slam team for their help and support.”
