Nintendo UK will part ways with Good Relations as they seek to enlist a new PR agency ahead of the Wii U launch later this year, PR Week report.

The process, which is said to be in early stages, will see Nintendo search for a company to aid its consumer and corporate PR in the United Kingdom.

By the end of July an agency shortlist will be drawn up, with pitches planned for the end of August.

“The year 2012 is a big one for Nintendo and with this in mind we are currently reviewing our PR agency. The first round of this process has already been completed,” confirmed a Nintendo spokeswoman.

Such an account would amount to an approximated £350,000 revenue on a fees-only basis, with launches, events and programmes generating additional budget, according to a games industry insider.

They added, “The challenge for the chosen agency will be keeping the existing Wii platform commercially viable as well as evoking excitement and anticipation in consumers and the industry for the Wii U launch.”
