Nintendo TVii shutting down on August 11th

Nintendo of America has announced that they are to end Wii U’s Nintendo TVii service on Tuesday 11th August 2015.

The service has been available in Japan and North America since the console launched, and had allowed users to search programmes on Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video and other networks while viewing additional information on the Wii U GamePad.

Nintendo TVii never reached Europe, with Nintendo abandoning plans to release the service in the region earlier this year.
