Nintendo to release Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir

Spirit Camera

Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir is set to release across North America for Nintendo 3DS on April 13th, Nintendo have announced.

The game introduces a mysterious girl named Maya who has been hiding in the shadows of an old house, and players will find themselves tasked with breaking her free from a terrifying curse by aiding her escape from an evil woman in black.

You’ll utilise the built-in camera functions and augmented reality features of the Nintendo 3DS, enhancing the sinister storyline as your own pictures and surroundings are used to personalise the horror experience. The game includes a 16-page Augmented Reality book, known as the “Diary of Faces”. This is used within the Story mode and serves as a gateway – players viewing the book’s images through the Nintendo 3DS camera to then enter its contents in Augmented Reality.

“Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir will give Nintendo 3DS owners an extraordinary new way to enjoy the system’s augmented-reality features and 3D capabilities,” comments Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Everywhere they go, they’ll be able to transform their real-world surroundings into a chilling hand-held adventure.”
