Nintendo tease potential Majora’s Mask remake once again

I can admit to having now lost count of the times that Nintendo have teased that a much demanded Majora’s Mask remake was on the cards.

Whilst Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Aime shared that fan petitions have no bearing on what the company does, we’ve had A Link Between World connections, Easter Eggs, nondescript laughter, and Skull Kid in Super Smash Bros. that seemingly indicates otherwise.

Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma said years ago that it “wouldn’t be an utter impossibility,” although more recently said after they had completed remastering The Wind Waker HD that he was unsure as to when they would remake another Zelda title – presumably shifting their full weight behind Zelda Wii U.

However, now we have A Link Between Worlds’ game director Hirosama Shikata joining in, responding to Game Informer‘s question about references to the N64 classic by saying: “[Having Majora’s Mask in Link’s house] was a special request from Aonuma’s production team. Now why would they ask us to do that?”

I give up.
