Nintendo of America has teamed up with GameTruck and Walmart to create the Nintendo Switch Summer of Fun event, that will let you play on the portable home console in parking lots at 100 Walmart stores across the United States.
These events are free, open to everyone and will run from Saturday 23rd June – Sunday 19th August, with the chance to play games like Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Tennis Aces, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Those that attend may have the chance to meet costumed characters like Mario and can take a family photo against a custom backdrop that has been inspired by the various kingdoms in the Super Mario Odyssey.
You can also take part in the My Nintendo Summer of Fun sweepstakes for a chance to win round-trip tickets for a family of four to visit any location that Southwest Airlines flies to.
100 runner-up winners will each receive a Nintendo Switch prize pack, that contains a Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Labo Variety Kit, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey and Mario Tennis Aces. Those that can’t make the Nintendo Switch Summer of Fun event can enter the sweepstake online.
“We love bringing families together through our systems, games and lovable characters,” explains Nintendo of America senior vice president of sales and marketing, Doug Bowser. “Delivering hands-on demos and unique Nintendo experiences directly to families at Walmart showcases the social fun and portability of Nintendo Switch.”
