Nintendo Switch Sales Surpass 132.46 Million Units Worldwide

Nintendo has announced that more than 132.46 million Nintendo Switch consoles have now been sold worldwide.

In the three months to 30 September 2023, 2.93 million consoles were sold. Within the first six months of the financial year, Nintendo Switch console sales rose by 2.4 percent year-on-year to 6.84 million units – breaking down as 1.25 million Nintendo Switch, 4.69 Nintendo Switch – OLED Model and 0.90 million Nintendo Switch Lite consoles.

“Looking at sales in our dedicated video game platform business, unit sales of Nintendo Switch hardware and software both increased year-on-year,” explains Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa. “The larger percentage of hardware sales accounted for by Nintendo Switch – OLED Model, which has a higher unit price, helped further increase sales to a total of 736.7 billion yen, up 16.7% year-on-year.”

Nintendo has now sold more than 1,133.23 million Nintendo Switch games, and, if you want to know which are continuing to prove to be most popular, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold 57.01 million, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has sold 43.38 million, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has sold 32.44 million copies,  The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has sold 31.15 million,  Super Mario Odyssey has sold 26.95 million, while Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield have sold 26.02 million copies.

Meanwhile, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet have sold 23.23 million, Super Mario Party has sold 19.66 million, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has sold 19.5 million and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe has sold 16.7 million copies.
