Nintendo of America has announced that, despite continued stock shortages, Nintendo Switch was the best-selling system in April, selling more than 280,000 units across the United States.

It became the second month in a row that Nintendo Switch was able to celebrate success, after it scored a record-breaking launch in March.

The Nintendo 3DS family of systems also sold more than 68,000 units, while Mario Kart 8 Deluxe became the top-selling video game in April after more than 550,000 copies were sold in two days – breaking down as over 460,000 copies at retail and 90,000 copies purchased digitally on the Nintendo eShop.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the third-highest-selling video game in April, with Nintendo adding that 1-2-Switch and Snipperclips – Cut it out, together! saw “strong sales.”

Nintendo now looks to continue this momentum into summer, with Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers, ARMS, and Splatoon 2 lined up for Nintendo Switch.
