Nintendo Switch Price Drop Hits In Time For Summer

Nintendo of Canada has announced a Nintendo Switch price drop, perfectly timed for those wanting to buy the portable home console to play on their summer holidays.

That sees the console’s price reduced from $399.99 to $379.99, a change that has already been reflected on online retailers.

“Just in time for the end of school and to kick-off the summer travel season, Nintendo of Canada Limited announced today that the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the Nintendo Switch system in Canada will now be $379.99, a reduction from the previous MSRP of $399.99,” the announcement reads (Thanks, lbabinz).

“This pricing change takes effect immediately at most Canadian retailers, including Walmart, Best Buy, EB Games, London Drugs, Toys R Us, Shoppers Drug Mart, The Source and Amazon.ca.”

Nintendo of Canada has also revealed the Nintendo Switch Together Tour, which will take place across the country from Vancouver to Levis and everywhere in between.

Those that visit will be able to play games like Super Mario Odyssey, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Splatoon 2, discovering the magic behind Nintendo Labo or compete in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Tennis Aces challenges to score prizes.

The Nintendo Switch Together Tour will be at the following locations:

  • 6th – 8th July: Montreal ComicCon in Montreal, QC
  • 6th – 15th July: Calgary Stampede in Calgary, AB
  • 20th – 22nd July: Valcartier Parc in Valcartier, QC
  • 3rd – 5th August: Festivent in Levis, QC
  • 19th August – 3rd September: Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver, BC (closed 20th and 27th August)
