There have been concerns around the launch day line-up and price point, but Nintendo Switch pre-orders have opened strongly in Japan.
Media Create reports that after the first week that they were made available at retailers, more than 80 percent of their initial shipment has been allocated to pre-orders.
With time having passed since their numbers were calculated, that means that retailers are now at the point where they are no longer taking pre-orders and the console will likely be sold out across the country at launch.
In a recent interview, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé promised that Nintendo Switch will not face the same stock shortages that the NES Classic Edition has suffered.
Nintendo Switch will launch worldwide on Friday 3rd March, priced at £279.99 ($299.99).
