Nintendo has announced that two new Game Boy games, one new NES game and one new SNES game have been made available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.

Once you have downloaded the latest software updates for the Game Boy – Nintendo Switch Online (version 1.1.0), Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online (version 6.4.0) and Super Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online (version 3.5.0) apps, you will be able to access these new games which have been added to the service:

BurgerTime Deluxe (Game Boy): How fast can YOU put a burger together? Give Chef Peter Pepper a helping hand to create the ultimate hamburger. Each ingredient is located on a different platform, and you must climb a series of ladders in order to reach them all. Walk across the ingredient to drop it closer to the waiting plate below. Once all burgers have been completed, you’ll be able to move on to the next level. But watch out! Renegade ingredients will stop at nothing to put an end to your cooking days. Dodge them, stun them using pepper or drop a hamburger ingredient on top of them to stop their chase. If you run out of pepper, look for more to appear around the screen at random – and collect bonus foods like coffee, chocolate and fries while you wait. It’s a nonstop food fight in this classic arcade game.

Kirby’s Dream Land 2 (Game Boy): Kirby returns and has joined forces with new friends! The Rainbow Bridges that connect the seven Rainbow Islands have disappeared! Help Kirby solve the mystery! Search through the different islands while battling King Dedede and his horde of evil minions. Along the way, meet Rick the Hamster, Kine the Fish and Coo the Owl. Each possesses important abilities that can multiply the magnitude of Kirby’s powers! Earn the mysterious Rainbow Sword, and prepare to face Kirby’s most menacing rival ever – the evil Dark Matter!

Side Pocket (Super NES): Use every trick shot up your sleeve and become top pool shark! This billiards game, released for the Super NES console in 1993, contains two modes. First, there’s Nine Ball Game, where you try to get nine balls into the pockets while, with each shot, hitting the lowest-numbered ball on the table before any other. Second, there’s Pocket Game, where the goal is to knock each ball into a pocket. By adjusting where you strike the cue ball, you can make use of a wide variety of shots, like massé shots and jump shots. In One Player Pocket Game, you have set out to be recognised as a true master of the game. You take to the road across North America, but in each city, the stakes get higher. When you’re not on the road, there are also two multiplayer modes: Two Player Pocket Game and Two Player Nine Ball. For a real challenge, try out Trick Game to take your best shot in table setups that could stump even seasoned pros.

Xevious (NES): Control the Solvalou Fighter, and destroy the Xevious forces! Fire the Zapper missiles against air-based enemies, and drop the Blaster bombs down upon ground-based targets. Destroy Andor Genesis to earn bonus points and beat the high score! Unique enemies, interesting background music, a variety of vertically scrolling background environments, and many hidden gameplay features differentiated Xevious from the other shooting games released at the time. Are you devious enough to beat Xevious?

With the Game Boy games, you can customise your play style with Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket or Game Boy Color screen filters, and up to two players can play compatible games together locally or online for the first time.

This recent addition to the Nintendo Switch Online was launched with nine games: Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, Game & Watch Gallery 3, Gargoyle’s Quest, Kirby’s Dream Land, Metroid II: Return of Samus, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, Tetris, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX and Wario Land 3.

Game Boy games coming in the future are confirmed to include The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, Pokémon Trading Card Game and Kirby Tilt ‘n’ Tumble.

You can play Game Boy games with an active Nintendo Switch Online membership, or play both Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games with an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.
