You can now earn My Nintendo Platinum Points to complete exclusive missions from using the Nintendo Switch Online service, which you can then redeem to unlock exclusive rewards such as icon elements that can be used to create customisable user icons.
These can be found within the Missions & Rewards section on the Nintendo Switch Online app that you can access from your HOME menu.
There are four My Nintendo Missions at the moment that will reset every Monday, which are:
- Play Software that Supports Online Play (Once a week) – 30 Platinum Points
- Use Save Data Cloud (Once a week) – 20 Platinum Points
- Play NES Software (Featured Software: Super Mario Bros.) – 50 Platinum Points
- Use This App (Once a week) – 10 Platinum Points
These Platinum Points can be used for the regular rewards that are made available on the My Nintendo Store, but subscribers will have the chance to unlock frames, characters and background elements to create a custom user icon that can be seen by other players when you’re online.
Each month will have a different theme, which, for March, is Super Mario Odyssey, with new icon elements to be rotated in on a weekly basis. There are also Animal Crossing: New Horizons icon elements which will be available for the full month, that are based on characters that have March birthdays.
