Nintendo Switch Has Sold 79.87 Million Units Worldwide

Nintendo has announced that more than 79.87 million Nintendo Switch consoles have been sold worldwide.

In the last three months – covering the start of October up until 31st December 2020 – 11.57 million Nintendo Switch consoles have been sold, with software sales in the same time period shifting 75.85 million copies.

That means that 24.10 million consoles have been sold in the first nine months of the financial year, which Nintendo breaks down as being “sales of 16.77 million units of Nintendo Switch and 7.33 million units of Nintendo Switch Lite.”

Nintendo has now sold more than 532.34 million Nintendo Switch games, and, if you want to know which are proving to be most popular, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold 33.41 million, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has sold 31.18 million, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has sold 22.85 million copies,  The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has sold 21.45 million, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield have sold 20.35 million, while Super Mario Odyssey has sold 20.23 million copies.

Meanwhile, Super Mario Party has sold 13.82 million, Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee! have sold 13 million, Splatoon 2 has sold 11.9 million, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe has sold 9.82 million copies.
