Nintendo of Canada has announced that the Nintendo Switch has become the fastest-selling console ever in the country.

The plucky portable home console has been met with record-breaking sales, surpassing Wii as the previous record holder thanks to having the strongest sales in the first 10 months of any system in Canadian history.

“The response that the Nintendo Switch has received from Canadians has been nothing short of spectacular,” enthused Pierre-Paul Trepanier, Nintendo of Canada’s general manager and senior director. “We’re thrilled to have seen such record-breaking momentum in 2017.”

Nintendo will now look to continue to build on that success in 2018 with games such as Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2, Kirby Star Allies, Mario Tennis Aces, and Nintendo Labo, that was revealed this week as “a new line of interactive build-and-play experiences designed to inspire creative minds.”
