Nintendo has released a new software update for the Nintendo Switch App on smart devices, which now sees the app on version 3.0.1.

This has rebranded the app from Nintendo Switch Online, through which you can check your Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch friend list to see who’s online, see which game they’re playing and get notifications when they come online. New friends can now be added using a QR Code.

You can now send screenshots and videos from your Nintendo Switch 2 album to the Nintendo Switch App, which will let you view the latest 100 screenshots or videos from the last 30 days.

The update has also introduced Zelda Notes as a game-specific service for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
