With system update version 21.0.0 for Nintendo Switch 2 now available to download, once your console has restarted, there is also a new Joy-Con 2 update that we’d recommend that you seek out.
Unlike system updates, Nintendo does not specify the improvements made to the controllers. Whatever has been tinkered with, you will find that there are updates for both the left and right Joy-Con 2, as well as the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller.
Remember that you can only update controllers that are connected to the console, for those with more than the two Joy-Con 2 that come with the portable home console.
How To Update The Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con 2 Controllers
- Select the System Settings on the HOME Menu.
- Scroll down through the System Settings menu and select Controllers and Accessories.
- Select Update Controllers to start the controller update process. Please note that this will only update any Joy-Con 2 controllers (or Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controllers) that are connected to the Nintendo Switch 2 console.
