Nintendo signs Wi-Fi deal with ‘The Cloud’

Nintendo 3DS1

Nintendo have announced that they have entered a new agreement with Wi-Fi service The Cloud, that will allow them to provide free internet access to Nintendo 3DS owners.

In a similar deal to that agreed for the Nintendo DS, those with Nintendo 3DS’ will be able to use any of the network’s 5000 hotspots to access the internet and additional online functions of the handheld.

No system update is required, and the Wi-Fi hotspots will also allow users to download new content through SpotPass functionality.
