Nintendo showcasing “previously announced Wii U title” on VGX today

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime set pulses racing when he announced that the company would be sharing “something special” on Spike TV’s VGX show tonight.

Such a vague tease lead to many jumping to the conclusion that it would be a new title, and perhaps even Zelda Wii U despite series producer Eiji Aonuma suggesting that they won’t be saying any more about it until E3 2014.

Prepare to have those hopes immediately dashed as Game Informer, who have partnered with Spike TV to host their own livestream, clarify that Reggie “will be on-hand to talk about a previously announced Wii U title.”

As to which game that will be remains a mystery, but we’ll cast our speculation towards Cranky Kong’s reveal for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, a new Super Smash Bros. character, or a new trailer for Bayonetta 2. What are you hoping that Nintendo will show?
