Nintendo may have drawn criticism for not having any ‘big’ announcements to share at E3 2015, but the games that they did have on show were still able to score themselves nominations in the 2015 Game Critics Awards: Best of E3.

Star Wars Battlefront led the way with five nominations, outpacing Fallout 4 and Horizon Zero Dawn with four apiece. Whereas, from a publisher standpoint, EA and Sony received the most nominations with 11 each, in comparison to Nintendo who were able to claim six.

Super Mario Maker and Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam each received two nominations, while Fire Emblem Fates and The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes scooped one each. These were all across Best Console Game, Best Handheld Game, Best Family/Social Game and Best RPG categories, for those interested.

The nominees were decided by 38 judging publications, with winners to be announced on Tuesday 7th July.
