Nintendo of Europe have released a range of screenshots for the Pokédex 3D application that is due to be available for free from the Nintendo eShop, due to hit the Nintendo 3DS next week when it receives its first major system update.

With the Pokédex 3D application, fans of the series will be able to collect data for the 150 Pokémon from the most recent Black and White entries within the series. You’ll be able to view each Pokémon in 3D, as well as animated motion and sound.

Whilst you’ll only have data for 16 Pokémon initially, you’ll be able to complete your Pokédex by sharing data with friends and using the SpotPass feature, or by scanning special Pokémon AR Markers (augmented reality markers). For the Pokémon for whom you have data, you’ll be able to then use the AR Viewer to see them within a real-world setting.
