Nintendo release free Virtual Card Album

If the StreetPass Mii Plaza activities weren’t providing enough of a distraction, a new Virtual Card Album will provide a further opportunity to do so.

Now available for free through the Nintendo eShop, eager Nintendo 3DS owners will be able to collect brand new artwork and screenshots, with the application initially focusing on Mario & Sonic at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

With a free Card Pack alongside the download, you will receive five virtual cards, with additional cards distributed through SpotPass. With the potential for duplicate cards, users are recommended to swap these with friends to ensure that you can help each other to expand your collection.

This can be performed through either StreetPass or by a Local Wireless Connection, the user allocating which of their virtual cards that they wish to swap which will then be traded automatically.

Some cards are rarer than others, though, and these will either be gained through sharing, or by exchanging Play Coins, gathered by walking around with your Nintendo 3DS, to unlock them.
