Nintendo register Pokémon Game Factory trademark

It has emerged that Nintendo, GameFreak, and Creatures Inc. have filed a new trademark in Japan for Pokémon Game Factory.

Before you get excited, this isn’t seeing the globally successful Pokémon follow the creative route that Mario Maker will be taking next year, but instead refers to a new toy merchandising line.

These products can already be seen at Japanese retailers, with Rakuten listing mini-pinball machines, Othello, and a game in which Pokémon unexpectedly spring from a platform.

Still, we’re still left with the little-known Pokken Fighters trademark to debate over…
